Pure Delight

I wrestled with a young coconut and a hacksaw yesterday to reveal the pure delight from within. The milk was clean and crisp with a subtle flavour and the flesh was as white as snow. Just how they say they should be. The boys drank most of the milk from within and as for the flesh, well the word "more" was constant. Needless to say my plans for the coconut milk and meat were abandoned so i guess I will just have to buy another coconut and get the hacksaw out again. There has to be an easier way?

  1. Great photos! I'm always a bit paranoid buying a coconut not knowing how it is like inside. I also think there is no easy way getting them open! :-D You did a great job!

Beautiful pictures! We used to have a coconut palm tree right outside our house and always used to drink the milk straight from the coconut :)

  3. I have to agree Maria - I have purchased not so great coconuts before so this was a wonderful discovery today.

Gorgeous photos! Young coconut is so delightful, isn't it? I use metal skewers to make 2 or 3 holes in the softer "whole" spots and turn upside down for the water to drain into a cup. As for the rest, I use a hammer. :-/
